India is all set to launch its second mission to the Moon on July 15, 2019. Named Chandrayaan-2, the mission will go where no other country has ever gone before - the Moon’s south polar region. The spacecraft weighs 3.8 tonnes and consists of three modules - Orbiter, Lander (Vikram), and Rover (Pragyan). It will carry out various experiments, including mapping of the surface, minerals, chemical composition, detection of sparse water molecules above the lunar surface and rock formations. If mission is successful, India will become the fourth country after the US, USSR and China to make a
