KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Amid the rising number of novel coronavirus cases (COVID-19), most districts across the country have enforced lockdown.
Partial and complete prohibitory orders have been imposed by the respective district administration offices depending upon the situation of COVID-19 of late.
Of the 48 districts, 35 have imposed lockdowns throughout the district while 13 have gone for partial orders in specific area of local units where there is high risk of viral infection, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA). Two other districts – Nuwakot and Kapilvastu--have suspended the services delivered by the district administration offices.

Most of the districts that share their southern border with India have been witnessing prohibitory order for at least one week.
The chief district officers (CDOs) are authorized by the government to issue the orders as per the Local Administration Act 1971.
