Industries closed down owning to load shedding

PARSA, Jan 10: Around five dozens of big and small industries in Birgunj-Pathalaiya industrial corridor of Parsa district have been closed completely following the increase in the load shedding hours.



Some 60 industries were closed after they could not manage an alternative way to run them, said immediate past Chairman of Birgunj Chambers of Commerce Industries (BCCI) Om Prakash Sikariya.Nepal Electricity Authority cut 75 hours of load shedding per week in this area as well,



According to a record in the BCCI local industries --- Mahalaxmi Soap, Puja Soap, Annapurna Textile and others --- have been closed owing the load shedding problem.



It has been reported around 20 thousands workers have lost their jobs when the industries were closed.



The industrial entrepreneurs stressed on the need for making special management of the electricity in the industrial area or upgrade the 33 KVA transmission load.
