The betel nuts worth Rs. 2.5 million were taken into India from the eastern town via Jogbani point along the Indo-Nepal border.
A truck used in ferrying the seized betel nuts was also impounded.
According to police, Pankaj Singh from Khuskibag of Bihar has been arrested in connection with the smuggling and he is under investigation.
