TIKAPUR, Oct 12: It might be hard for many to believe that the caps worn by Nepal Police personnel have labels on the inner side that bear the a slogan - Sare jahan se achha Hindustan hamara (My India is better than the entire world). Some of these caps even have the picture of a sheep.
The security personnel have been wearing such caps for years. However, it is yet to become clear whether they are not aware of it or it is the negligence of the police organization itself. Not only the berets worn by the low-ranking police personnel but also the peaked caps worn by high-ranking officials have such symbols which are not found in all caps.

Recently, a policeman tore his cap after finding a similar label on it. According to sources, such uniforms are made by Indian companies. They also claim that those labels are intentionally placed by those Indian companies for challenging the sovereignty and dignity of Nepal.
DIG and spokesperson for Nepal Police, Manoj Neupane, however, claims that it is not possible to have such labels in the caps bought through a tender. According to him, such stickers might be in the caps personally bought by the officers. "That is something that the person wearing it must pay attention to," he said, adding that Nepal Police can't provide its officials with the uniform immediately if they are lost or torn and that compels them to buy the uniform or a part of it on their own.
Meanwhile, some security personnel have claimed that they have found such labels even in the caps provided through a tender. "We have no option than wearing the same caps by throwing the sticker away," said an official requesting anonymity.
