Indian assistance to BPKIHS

KATHMANDU, Dec 2: Indian ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood on Thursday laid the foundation of a college block on the premises of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan and handed over a newly constructed school building to Gokundeshwar Higher Secondary School in Dhankuta district.



The Indian government has provided Rs 125.3 million rupees for the projects.[break]



The college block at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences will be the biggest hospital-cum-medical college outside the Kathmandu Valley, according to an Indian embassy statement.



“These development projects have been undertaken in response to local needs and in partnership with the Government of Nepal,” the statement said.



On Wednesday, Ambassador Sood handed over handed over Tak Bahadur Giri Bus Park at Birtamod, constructed with Indian assistance of Rs 30 million to Jhapa District Development Committee.
