By No Author
KANCHANPUR, April 19: Indian border security force, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), has installed CCTV cameras at various places along the border from Darchula to Kanchanpur to scrutinize activities in Nepali border areas.

Arrangement has been made to see every activity through cameras from New Delhi. "We can see the cameras through internet from New Delhi," said SSB IG Anil Agrawal.

The cameras are placed in Jhulaghat of Darchula, Nepali border area in Pithauragadh, Tanakpur, Banbasa, Gaurifanta, Khajuriya and Melaghat.

Intellectuals here say the cameras might have been kept to scrutinize Nepal’s internal activities even if the SSB claims it was for controlling criminal activities and making patrols effective.

Agrawal had inspected the cameras last Friday.

Kanchanpur CDO Buddhi Bahadur Khadka said no information had come of the installation of CCTVs by Indian side in the border areas.

SP Chitra Bahadur KC of Armed Police Force´s Border Security Office at Gaddachauki said rumors were heard of the same but no official information has been received.

Preparations are also being made to deploy SSB brigade in Dihihat near the border. The Indian side has also installed a machine near the Banbasa border to check fake currencies.
