KATHMANDU, April 15: Finance Minister Shankar Prasad Koirala has promised additional budget for ongoing projects if the implementing agency makes commitment to complete the project within the stipulated time frame.

According to a press release on Monday, Koirala asked all the ministries and project implementing agencies to focus on increasing capital spending and ensuring good governance. "Please ask for additional budget on time if you think the project required more budget in this fiscal year," he added.[break]

Expressing dissatisfaction over low capital spending over the first nine months of the current fiscal year, Koirala said this is the time to put effort on raising capital expenditure.

"The demand for additional budget should come to the finance ministry with a commitment to spend the budget on time," the release added.
