PARSA, Oct 27: Imports and exports through the Birgunj border have decreased in the first three months of the current fiscal year (mid-July through mid-October).
The goods worth Rs 143.91 billion were imported - a decrease of 6.43 percent as compared to the imports amounting to Rs. 153.80 billion during the same period last year, according to the customs office.
Tobacco import via Birgunj increases
Chief Customs Administrator Deepak Lamichhane said the monsoon had caused the decrease.
Likewise, products worth Rs 7.763 billion were exported via Birgunj, down from Rs 8.467 billion.
