ILLAM, Oct 11: The District Court of Ilam has ordered to sentence two people to life imprisonment involved in the murder of a youth.
A year ago, two people who killed a young man at Bukuwa bridge in Chulachuli, Ilam were sentenced to life imprisonment by the court. Seven others have been sentenced to one year in prison for the murder of Lal Bahadur Gurung alias LB of Chulachuli and one person has been acquitted.

The bench of District Court Judge Deepkumar Dahal ordered to sentence Naresh Kumar Yakkha aka Jhyamle and Maniram Limbu aka Dilbare to 25 years imprisonment.
As per the verdict, they are required to pay Rs 200,000 as compensation to the deceased's family and Rs 12,500 as compensation for the victim's motorcycle. Furthermore, they must deposit Rs 2,800 into the victim relief fund.
Parshuram Rai, Narendra Darji, Bikram Nepali, Rohit Ingnam Limbu, Anish Lawati, Sesehang Yakkha and Chandrakumar Yawa have been sentenced to one year imprisonment. According to the verdict, they have to deposit Rs 200 each in the victims' relief fund. Samil Rai, who was said to be involved in the incident, was acquitted.
On September 21, 2022, Lal Bahadur was attacked and killed with a sharp weapon at Chulachuli Rural Municipality-5, Bukuwa Bridge, at approximately 4 PM. After Lal Bahadur attempted to confront them, other young men began pelting stones and wielding khukuris. Subsequently, he was struck with a knife, leading to serious injuries. Despite receiving treatment at the Lifeline Hospital in Damak, Jhapa, his injuries were fatal, and he died when being transported to B&C Hospital in Birtamod.
