KATHMANDU, April 16: Namibia has posted a 196-run target against Nepal at the ICC World Cricket League Championship being held at the TU Cricket ground in Kirtipur on Saturday.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Namibia made 195 runs in alloted 50 overs losing nine wickets.
Sarel Burger topscored with 38 runs off 77 balls including four fours for Namibia. Pikky Ya France made 26 runs including two sixes and two fours off 47 balls while JJ Smit hit the same number of runs including two sixes and one four off 22 balls. Similalry, Gerhard Erasmus contributed 25 runs off 38 balls.

Restricting opponent Namibia to 195 runs, Nepal's Basanta Regmi claimed three wickets conceding 40 runs in 10 overs, Sompal Kami took two wickets giving away 47 runs while skipper Paras Khadka and Sandeep Lamichhane grabbed one wicket each.
The match is crucial for both the sides since victory will keep them in contention for the ICC World Cup Qualifiers to be held in Bangladesh in 2018.
Among the eight teams contesting in the WCL championship, the top four teams after playing double round robin league will book their tickets for the World Cup Qualifiers. Each team has to face every other team in twice in the league. In total, every team has to play 14 matches.
After playing four matches, Nepal is yet to open score and is languishing in the bottom of the table in the eight-team contest. Playing equal number of matches as of Nepal, visiting Namibia is sixth with two points after it managed to pull one-wicket win over Hong Kong in May. But Namibia lost the second leg match.
