KATHMANDU, May 19: Minister for Industry Nabindra Raj Joshi has said that the Investment Board Nepal (IBN) should collaborate with different ministries and authorities to speed up mega infrastructure projects.
Joshi was nominated to the post of vice-chairman of the IBN by the government on Wednesday.
Speaking at a program organized in his honor by the IBN on Thursday, Minister Joshi said that IBN should be developed as a powerful authority by forging collaboration with different ministries. “Hurdles that IBN have been facing in project implementation should be resolved by holding meeting with different line ministries,” Joshi said at the program, adding that he will work to make necessary amendments to the Investment Board Act to make it easy for the board to work.
Likewise, Shanker Prasad Koirala, secretary of the Ministry of Industry, said that the ministry will always help the IBN to implement the projects that it has started.
Welcoming Minister Joshi to IBN, Maha Prasad Adhikari, the CEO of IBN, said that Joshi's guidance would help the IBN to expedite its projects.
