HRA mobilizes medical teams targeting trekkers

KATHMANDU, April 10: The Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) has mobilized mobile teams of medics at three locations, to assist trekkers.

KATHMANDU, April 10: The Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) has mobilized mobile teams of medics at three locations, to assist trekkers. 


The medical squads have been deployed at the Everest Base Camp and Feriche in Solukhumbu, and Manang village of Manang district.

According to the association’s Chief Executive Officer, Govinda Basyal,  a team comprising one foreign doctor and two Nepalis has been sent to the Everest Base Camp while two foreigners and one Nepali have been sent to Feriche, which lies on the way to the base camp. Likewise, a squad of two foreigners and one Nepali has been sent to Manang. The medical teams are accompanied by the association's employees. 


The association identifies itself as a voluntary non-profit organization formed in 1973 with an objective to reduce casualties in the Himalayas of Nepal, especially in view of the increasing number of Nepalese and foreigners who trek up into the remote wilderness.
