KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Today's meeting of the Legislature-Parliament has been postponed due to the disruption of agitating Madhes-based political parties.

Lawmakers associated with the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) chanted slogans near rostrum soon after Speaker Onsari Ghartimagar provided time to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa.

The meeting was postponed for three days after the UDMF lawmakers continued chanting slogans despite frequent requests of the Speaker to allow the House proceedings.

Earlier, the top leaders of the major political parties held discussion at the office of the Speaker this morning over the issue of resuming the House business. The next parliament meeting is scheduled at 3:00 pm on December 10. RSS
