The House meeting was expected to hold key deliberation on the constitution amendment bill registered by the government earlier this month.

CPN-UML chief whip Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal said that leaders from the ruling parties requested to postpone the House meeting because the meeting would lack quorum as most lawmakers are outside Kathmandu. He further said that the ruling parties also sought time for tabling the amendment bill in the House in the new political context.

The CPN-UML has been opposing the amendment bill in parliament, stating that it is unnecessary.
