Nayana Shakya and Siddhartha Maharjan, both of Prime, were adjudged the most valuable players in the girls´ and boys´ categories, respectively.[break]
Prime defeated defending champions Whitehouse 47-31 in the girls´ final held at their home court at Naya Bazar.
Prime took a 12-8 lead in the first quarter and widened the gap further in the second quarter scoring 17-7. They dominated the third quarter as well with a 7-4 win. Whitehouse turned the last quarter in their favor with a 12-11 scoreline, but it was too little, too late.
Preeti Tulachan topscored for Prime with 12 points in the match. Sajani Tamang scored nine points for Whitehouse.
Prime had earlier defeated Whitehouse in a round robin match also.
In the boys´ final also, the hosts defeated Whitehouse 67-45. Prime took a 23-11 lead in the first quarter and held onto their advantage throughout the match. The scores in the other three quarters were 10-7, 19-13, 15-14.
Allen KC contributed 17 points for the winners while Asim Shrestha grabbed 16 for the runners-up.
Altogether 14 teams in the boys´ category and six in the girls´ category had participated in the tournament that kicked off last week.
