KATHMANDU, Feb 7: A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Friday held discussions on the ‘Bill Designed to Make Provisions Regarding Legislation, 2081 BS’.
In the meeting, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasia presented a proposal seeking discussion on the legislation bill along with the report of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee.
This bill had originated in the National Assembly, the upper house of the Federal Parliament.
During the discussion on the bill, lawmaker Purna Bahadur Gharti said that the bill would help establish the rule of law as well as make the law systematic and transparent.

Lawmaker Achyut Prasad Mainali expressed the belief that the enactment of this law would put an end to the practice of enacting laws that serve the interests of any group or individual.
Lawmaker Biraj Bhakta Shrestha said that the bill would play a role in making the bills people-oriented and making implementable laws.
Lawmakers Dr Chanda Karki Bhandari, Kiran Kumar Sah, Prem Suwal, Hitraj Pandey and Sushila Thing among others expressed their views on the bill.
The bill covers the issues related to further systematizing the development of bills, archiving, publication and management of legislation.
The government has brought this bill to maintain uniformity in the formulation of laws by making the laws to be developed by the federal parliament, to maintain a systematic record of the acts issued and to set the jurisdiction for delegated legislation.
The bill is also expected to play an important role in examining whether the delegated legislation made by the government or other bodies using the powers delegated by the Act is contrary to the objectives of the original statute.
The next meeting of the House of Representatives will convene at 1 pm on February 9, Sunday.
