Home Minister warns PM not to raise arms

BIRGUNJ: A day after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal warned that they would again raise arms, Home Minister Bam Dev said on Saturday that no one has rights to raise arms and that the government would take action against anyone including prime minister if found involved in such act.



Minister Gautam, who arrived here to attend the convention of CPN-UML Hetauda municipal committee, was talking to media persons at Simara Airport.



“I do not know for what purpose it was said,” Gautam told reporters. “But anyone carrying weapons against the existing laws will be controlled.”



Addressing a function organized by Nepal Progressive Writers’ Association in Kathmandu on Friday, Dahal, who is also Chairman of CPN-Maoist, said that they would raise arms if the achievement of Janaandolan II and People’s War are at stake. He also said that change was just impossible without the strength of gun barrels.
