Demanding Hindu state, legality of the new constitution through referendum, rehabilitation of landless, conflict-hit and flood victims, declaration of cow as a national animal and ethnic states, the council has imposed banda.

The Hindu organisation, established in the Far-West three years ago, has warned of “action” against those who defy the strike.

Earlier in December, the council had announced Far-West banda.
