Himalaya TV, scribes ink deal

KATHMANDU, June 18: The management of the Himalaya TV on Thursday agreed to address the five-point demand put forth by agitating journalists.

The journalists at the media were in strike since three days demanding payment of due salaries, implementation of Working Journalists Act and past accords.


Coordinator of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Himalayan TV Chapter Suraj Acharya said that during talks between FNJ, FNJ Himalayan TV Chapter and television management, management agreed to fulfill all of their demands.

According to him, the media house paid salaries for the Nepali month of Chaitra today and agreed to provide salaries for Baisakh and Jestha by June 25.
