KATHMANDU, April 24: A partial influence of westerly and local winds is currently affecting the country. There is partial cloud cover in the Himalayan region and parts of the Tarai in Koshi Province, while the weather remains mostly clear elsewhere.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Friday afternoon will see generally cloudy conditions in Koshi Province and the hilly and mountainous regions, with partial cloud cover across the remaining Tarai areas.
Some places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province, along with parts of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and the highlands of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, may experience moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning, as well as snowfall. A few locations in the Tarai of Koshi Province may also receive similar weather.
Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to rise in Madhes Province and in the Tarai regions, valleys, and lowlands of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is a likelihood of a heatwave in the Tarai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
By Friday night, the Himalayan region will remain generally cloudy, the hilly regions will see partial cloud cover, and the Tarai will experience mostly clear weather. Light rainfall and snowfall are possible in some parts of the Himalayan regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
