'Health insurance programs should not be given to private sector'

KATHMANDU, August 10: The CPN-UML has objected to the fact that the health insurance program is being entrusted to the private sector.


As soon as the meeting of the House of Representatives started today, UML Member of Parliament Khagaraj Adhikari said that according to the provision made in point 151 of the current fiscal year's budget, the responsibility of the health insurance program is being entrusted upon the private sector.

Former health and population minister Adhikari alleged that some people were trying to fail the health insurance program.


MP Mahesh Basnet of the same party said that due to the floods caused by incessant rain on Tuesday night, various places in the Kathmandu Valley were inundated. He demanded immediate relief arrangements for the affected people.
