Actor Harshvardhan Kapoor, who loves playing poker, has been named a wild card entry for a team of the forthcoming Poker Sports League (PSL) to be held in Goa.
The 12 franchises for PSL on Saturday picked their players at an auction to complete their teams for the maiden season of the league.
The bidding event also saw the wild card players being announced by team owners. Apart from Harshvardhan who has been chosen for Kolkata Royals, there’s former Mrs India World Shilpa Bhagat for Hyderabad KINGS, read a statement issued on behalf of PSL.
The league is the brainchild of Amit Burman, Vice Chairman, Dabur India Ltd, who has partnered with Anuj Gupta, Co-Founder, Adda52.com, an online poker website. Spearheaded by Pranav Bagai and Nikita Luther, the league aims to sportify the game and provide poker enthusiasts an opportunity to play for the pride of winning.
The players will compete for a prize money of Rs 3.36 crore at the event, which kicks off on May 22 with a two-day boot camp, followed by the finale at the Deltin Casino Royale, Goa from May 24-28.
