Kathmandu: The 21st Shree Dr Balram Joshi Gyan-Bigyan Rastriya Puraskar Pratisthan prize distribution was held at the Russian Center of Science and Culture, Kamaladi on Friday. At the event, an autobiography of Angur Baba Joshi was also launched.

Former president Ram Baran Yadav inaugurated the event as the chief guest. Prizes under as many as five categories were distributed to deserving candidates at the event.
Vipassana Dhyan Sadhana Kendra was awarded the Dr Balram Joshi Gyan-Bigyan Rastria Puraskar, Professor Purusotam Bhattarai was awarded the Dr Balram Joshi Suyogya Sikchhik Puraskar, Jason Andrews of Possible Organization was awarded the Shree Chandra Kumari- Himalayaraj Joshi Swastha Sewa Kosh Samman, social worker Binod Shahi was awarded the Shree Deepkumari- Pitambar Prasad Panta Samajsewa Kosh Samman and former chief justice Ram Prasad Shrestha was awarded the Shree Barista Adhibakta Krishna Prasad Panta Puraskar. The awards included certificate of appreciation and cash prize of Rs 50,101, Rs 25,101, Rs 25,101, Rs 25,101 and Rs 25,101, respectively.
Yadav launched autobiographies named ‘Akchhar Sadhna Ra Godhuli’ and ‘Deekshya’, based on the life and struggles of Angur Baba Joshi, at the concluding ceremony of the event.
