KATHMANDU, July 11: Parshuram Gurung of Nepal advanced into the final of the Fifth Indo-Nepal Shotokan Karate Championship in the boys´ U-70 kg category defeating compatriot Ram Basnet in the semifinal on Friday. [break]



In other matches of the boys´ category held at the semi-covered hall of the Dasharath Stadium, Prakash Khadka (U-55 kg), Kshitiz Shrestha (U-50 kg), Ashish Chaudhary (U-45 kg), Dipesh Raj Giri (U-40 kg) and Raj Thapa (U-35 kg) reached the final winning their respective matches. In the girls´ section, Anusha Adhikari (U-20 kg), Asma Singh (U-25 kg) and Rumery Magar (U-30 kg) won their respective semifinal matches to secure final berths. All the finalists are from Nepal. The two-day tournament is organized by Nepal Shotokan Karate Federation.
