KATHMANDU, April 20: The Guardians´ Association of Nepal has announced that it will have the fees overcharged by the private schools and publications returned to the guardians.

The Association shared its decision through a press meet in the capital Saturday. Fees collected by private educational institutions against the stipulations would be returned to the guardians, the Association said.

Speaking at the program, Association President Suprabhat Bhandari said an agitation against the non-implementation of the institutional schools criteria and operation directives would be continued. He warned of hitting the street if their voices fell on deaf ears.

It may be noted that the Association on March 29 called on Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers and submitted a seven-point memorandum, demanding reform in community schools and ending of commercialism of private schools.

Association Vice President Sarita Aryal vented ire at lack of monitoring on the sale of textbooks published by private publications.
