Special Court on Sunday ordered the CIAA to keep him in the police custody for investigation for a week.
Sharma who was doing time in the police custody was rushed to Bir Hospital after he complained of feeling giddy.
Most of the graft-accused VVIPs prefer to stay at hospitals in order to escape police interrogation while doing time on remand.
On last Friday, CIAA had arrested Sharma from his office on the charge of misappropriating millions of rupees by misusing his authority.
With the checkered past, Sharma, who was in the process of getting promoted to the post of secretary, has been suspended following his arrest.
Despite dozens of graft cases filed against him, he reigned as General Director of Inland Revenue Department for four years.
