KATHMANDU, July 4: Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, has said the government is working actively to ensure good governance.
At a program organized on 'Public trust on government: A discussion' by the Transparency International Nepal on Sunday, Minister Karki reiterated that the government is committed to list Nepal as the country with the least corruption.
Where there is government, there is corruption!
"Society can not be disciplined unless reward and punishment are taken together. All sectors concerned should extend support to make the government transparent and accountable. It is civil society's responsibility to make local and provincial governments accountable," he said.
Reminding that the government conducted the local level elections on the stipulated date, Minister Karki announced that the country would have the federal and province level elections on time. Although the economy has faced challenges, there is no immediate crisis, he argued.
