Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Dan Bahadur Karki, the central spokesperson of Nepal Police, confirmed that these provisions are outlined in Nepal's Penal Code, 2074 BS.

The law stipulates that anyone engaged in the illegal import, transportation, storage and distribution of firecrackers will face penalties, as their use contributes to environmental pollution and poses safety risks.

Joint Secretary Rishi Ram Tiwari, spokesperson at the Ministry of Home Affairs, reported that inspections are underway at border points and highways to combat the illegal transportation of firecrackers. He added that if such items are found during these checks, they will be confiscated and legal action will be initiated against the guilty persons.
