Govt suspends chartered flights to rural region

BANKE, May 24: Government has suspended the chartered flight to the rural areas of the country.  The new decision came into the effect from Thursday following the minister-level decision.


According to the Civil Aviation Authority, Nepalgunj, the decision will suspend all the chartered flight to the rural and Karnali region.

The decision was made by the ministerial level on May 12 to revise the entire flight tariff for the region and to suspend the chartered flight.  The CAAN had recommended the government to revise the flight tariff for the rural region.


Following the decision, all airlines company flying to the region agreed to have the same tariff with increased price and to suspend the chartered flights.


Earlier, the airline companies used to operate 20 percent regular flight and 80 percent chartered flight due to which local passenger could not find the tickets for the regular flights.


 After the suspension of the chartered flight, the all the flight tariff to the region will be available in reasonable price, said CAAN officials at Nepalgunj.
