Govt says full bench hearing is not necessary for writs against House dissolution

KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Government has expressed its disagreement about the requirement of full bench hearing on the writs filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).


Attorney General Agni Kharel, while participating in the hearing at the Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench on Wednesday, ruled out the demands of full bench hearing demanded by the petitioners.

Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR sought his opinion on the formation of a full bench for as many as 13 writ petitions filed at the apex court demanding the restoration of the 275-member lower house of parliament.  


The hearing on 13 writ petitions filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) at the Supreme Court is currently underway.
