KATHMANDU, March 8: The government has officially recognized an additional 2,674 individuals as martyrs. According to the decision announced by the government, the list of additional martyrs has been published in the Nepal Gazette.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers on January 9 decided to declare 2,674 individuals as martyrs who sacrificed their lives during various movements, armed struggles and revolutions but were not previously declared as martyrs.

On the same day, the meeting also decided to publish the details of 259 individuals who had not been included in the Nepal Gazette.
Furthermore, revisions to the details of 1,012 previously declared martyrs were approved during the same session, along with amendments to the records of 152 other martyrs.
The decision to publish the details of three additional individuals as martyrs, who also lost their lives in various movements, armed struggles, and revolutions, but were not previously recognized as martyrs, has been outlined in the decision published by the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.
