Govt prepares to send ‘LLRC report’ back to commission

KATHMANDU, Feb 9: The government consulted political parties as it wants to send the report submitted by the commission formed to restructure local units (LLRC) back to the commission for revision.

KATHMANDU, Feb 9: The government consulted political parties as it wants to send the report submitted by the commission formed to restructure local units (LLRC) back to the commission for revision.


The Consultation Committee led by Minister for Local Development Hitaraj Pandey on Thursday held a meeting with the Prime Minister and leaders of various political parties regarding the fate of the report.


According to Maoist Center leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the government could now sent the report back to the commission for revision.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Deputy Prime Minister and NC leader Bimalendra Nidhi, CPN-UML Vice Chairman Bhim Rawal, Maoist Center leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Kamal Thapa, Madhesi People’s Right Forum-Democratic leader Jeetendra Dev were present at the meeting held in Singh Durbar.


During the meeting, UML leader Bhim Rawal said that the consultation should have done before by the government before receiving the report from the commission. Rawal urged the government to implement the report finalized by the commission now instead of delaying it.


However, Minister Pandey said that the consultation meeting was summoned since the government needs to revise the report taking consent from all the political parties.
