KATHMANDU, Sept 17: The government has issued permits to more than 450 mountaineers from 48 expeditions to ascend the snow-capped mountains in the autumn season this year.
According to the Department of Tourism, the largest number of climbers have received government permits to ascend Manaslu Himal. For the season, 394 individuals from 37 mountaineering groups will be climbing Mt Manaslu.

Likewise, a team with five members will be climbing Sagarmatha, 34 members in four groups will be climbing Dhaulagiri and seven individuals in two groups will be climbing Himlung Himal. Similarly, five individuals in a group have received permits for Nupse and a climber has received a permit to climb Saribung peak.
In the mountaineering season this year, a total of 454 climbers from 60 countries have already ascended Nepali mountains. Of them, 110 were women and 344 were men. The government collected Rs 53.22 million in royalty from the climbers.
