KATHMANDU, Nov 14: The government is resuming the Korean language test under Employment Permit System (EPS), which was put on hold for over a year due to e coronavirus pandemic.


Issuing a public notice on Sunday, the EPS section of the Department of Foreign Employment, informed that the language test will take place from  December 16 to22.  The authority is conducting a computer based test of Korean language this time.

The Korean government had earlier called for the job placement to more than 5000 employees for 2021, for which examinations were supposed to take place in May, 2020. A total of 92,000 applicants had applied for the language examinations which, however, could not take place due to the coronavirus pandemic.


The government authority has looked into sending a new lot of workers to Korea although a large number of eligible candidates are already on the waiting list. The government has recently started the process of sending more than 6,700 individuals who have already cleared the Test of Proficiency in Korean, a mandatory Korean language test, and the skill test for job placement in Korea.
