KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Following the appointment of provincial governors, the government has decided to depute 13 civil servants to each governor's office while allowing the governor to appoint another 12 employees for his/her personal secretariat.
According to the Ministry of General Administration, among the civil servants to be deputed in the governor's office, joint secretaries from the administrative service will be appointed as the administrative chief of each office while other officials include under-secretary, section officers, computer operator, audit officer, and protocol officer.

"Similarly, as provisioned in the law, the governors will appoint 12 other officials each on their own for their personal secretariat on a contract basis. So, altogether, there will be 25 employees at the governor's office in each province," Spokesperson of the MoGA Shiva Ram Neupane said.
He said that since the governors have already taken oath of office and secrecy on Friday, the ministry will depute the civil servants within two days to the provinces.
Prof Govinda Subba has been appointed as governor of Province-1, Ratneshwar Lal Kayastha of 2, Anuradha Koirala of 3, Baburam Kunwar of 4, Umakanta Jha of 5, Durga Khanal of 6 and Mohan Raj Malla of Province-7.
Neupane said that the ministry is also making necessary preparations for the deployment of civil servants in other new provincial offices as envisioned by the constitution. The ministry is making preparations to depute Secretary-level official for chief administrative officer to each governor's offfice while deploy other government officials to various offices like chief minister's offices, provincial assemblies, other provincial offices envisioned by the constitution.
