Government employees to get study-leave on condition of presenting clear grounds

KATHMANDU, Aug 6 Minister for Federal Issues and General Administration Lal Babu Pandit has clarified that government would not grant its employees with study leave if they failed to present justifiable reasons.

KATHMANDU, Aug 6: Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Lal Babu Pandit has clarified that the government would not allow officials to take study leave if they failed to come up with justifiable reasons.


Minister Pandit informed that this provision was introduced as some employees were found working in abroad during their study leave.

Answering the questions raised by lawmakers in the meeting of State Affairs Committee of the federal parliament while discussing on the proposed bill of Civil service formation, operation and terms of service on Tuesday, Minister Pandit said that during his earlier tenure, he had expelled a public servant who skipped his studies in USA.


He also maintained that employees would not be allowed to use office telephone for personal purposes.
