"The statements are provocative and uninformed about the ground realities and do not serve the fundamental interest of the two countries," reads a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tuesday. "The Government of Nepal expresses deep regret over such statements. They are not helpful in the ongoing efforts aimed at normalizing the situation."
The government has urged everyone to exercise restraint while making statements that may seriously undermine the harmonious relations between the two countries and peoples. The government also called for a positive attitude and contributions from all concerned to promote bilateral relations.
The statement has come in response to reports that top leaders of the agitating Madhes-based political parties have been visiting Indian leaders in Bihar, including Lalu Yadav and Raghubangsha Singh, to seek support from Bihar for intensifying their protests in Nepal.
