KATHMANDU, July 8: Minister for Forests and Environment, Shakti Bahadur Basnet, has said that good governance was imperative to fulfill the dream of prosperity.
At an interaction organised by Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists here today, Minister Basnet said that prosperous Nepal was impossible unless the good governance was achieved.
He said, "Benefit should be taken after conserving various sides of environment for the holistic development. Development is not possible without the collaboration of all."
Similarly, Dean of Kathmandu University, Prof Subodh Sharma, said that environment and bio-diversity were ruining due to unscientific development.
Presenting a working paper on 'Seti Gandaki: Bio-Diversity and Watershed Health', he drew the attention of the bodies concerned towards saving the life of water creatures.
NEFEJ General Secretary Ramesh Bhusal argued that the government has stressed on development of road and hydropower since long but they are lacking scientific way. RSS
