KATHMANDU, July 12: Gold prices have surged to new record levels. On the last trading day of the week, gold prices rose by Rs 1,800 per tola, marking the highest price reached so far.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations, the price of gold was fixed at Rs 146,700 per tola on Friday. This follows an increase from Rs 144,900 per tola on Thursday, when gold rose by Rs 800.

Similarly, the price of silver saw a slight increase of Rs 17 per tola, with silver trading at Rs 1,900 per tola on Friday compared to Rs 1,885 per tola on Thursday.
The price of standard gold has risen to Rs 146,000 per tola from Rs 144,200 per tola the previous day.
The upward trend in gold prices in the international market has had a corresponding impact locally. Gold prices climbed to $2,409.76 per ounce on Friday from $2,381.44 per ounce on Thursday.
Silver prices have also seen a modest increase internationally, with silver trading at $31.21 per ounce on Friday.
