KATHMANDU, April 28: Global Shapers Community Kathmandu is set to host the second edition of its Global Talk Series on May 10. This session, titled ‘Water Stewardship: Managing Water Resources for Sustainable Agriculture,’ aims to address critical challenges in agricultural sustainability.
Supported by the Green Resilient Agricultural Productive Ecosystems (GRAPE) project, funded jointly by the European Union in Nepal, the Government of Finland, and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and executed by GIZ Nepal, the event promises to be a significant platform for discourse and action.

Featuring an esteemed lineup of speakers, the session will showcase Satyajit Bhatkal, CEO of Paani Foundation, renowned for his efforts in making rural Maharashtra drought-free. Likewise, Bibhuti Ojha, Associate Professor and Program Coordinator at the Civil Engineering Department of National Engineering College, will shed light on water supply engineering and environmental impact assessment, alongside Ajaya Dixit, an expert on water, climate change, and disasters.
According to the organizer, attendees can anticipate insights into government-led initiatives and policies on water management, networking opportunities, and interactive sessions on innovative climate-smart solutions. With a focus on understanding the current state of water stewardship and its ramifications on farming practices across Nepal, the event seeks to foster actionable solutions for a sustainable agricultural future.
