Devkota reclaimed his seat in the Gandaki Provincial Assembly on Friday after winning a case in the Supreme Court, which ruled in his favor and dismissed the charges against him.
Sources indicate that Chief Minister Surendra Pandey will formally appoint Devkota to his new ministerial position.
Previously, Devkota had challenged the CPN (Maoist Center)'s decision to take action against him, filing a writ petition at the Supreme Court on grounds of its alleged unconstitutionality.
Despite directives from the Maoist parliamentary party, Devkota sided with CM Pandey of the Nepali Congress (NC) during a crucial confidence vote.
In response, the Maoist Center had stripped him of his provincial lawmaker status.
