JHAPA, Dec 5: Seven persons were arrested along with Hotel Entrepreneurs Association – Jhapa Chairman, Bhola Upreti, from a gambling hub here.
They were arrested red handed while gambling at Sandeep Hotel at Birtamode. A loan official of a cooperative, Tanka Bhetwal, was also arrested during the raid, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Keshav Thebe, of Area Police Office, Birtamode.
The police acted on a tip off and confiscated Rs 175,000 in cash. The gamblers have been detained at the Area Police Office for further investigation. RSS
