Organizing a press meet in on Friday, Gaindakot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) informed that the festival will be organized from January 11 through 21, 2018.

"We have started the preparation earlier to make it better organized and grander," said Amrit Bhattachan, president of GCCI.

As the Gaindakot Municipality has excelled in milk production, the festival will promote dairy products under the agricultural sector. Apart from dairy, the several other local products will be put in the stalls, Sapkota added.

On the occasion, president Bhattachan said that the festival will be conducted with the support of social organizations, cooperatives, and community forests.

"The first edition of the festival was successful, though we had organized the event soon after GCCI was established," he said, "We are working to make the second edition more organized, grander and more result-oriented."

Nepal Tourism Board, District Coordination Committee and Gaindakot Municipality will be the promoters of the event.

Gaindakot has high potential for tourism. As the Kaligandaki River flows through Gaindakot, GCCI is planning to operate rafting at Maisa River, 17 kilometers away from Gaindakot. This will create a base for nautical tourism, Sapkota added.

"This is just preliminary information of festival. The detailed planning will be announced gradually," Ekdev Rimal, GCCI treasurer, said.

According to general secretary of the chamber Chhabi Kandel, 15 percent of the festival income will go for the welfare of senior citizens, single women, and marginalized and disabled people.

The organizers hoped that the festival would support promotion of industrial environment of Gaindakot and Nawalpur area. Around 400 stalls will be there in the festival. For the preparations of the festival, 351 main committee and 25 sub-committees have been formed, Bhattachan said.
