KATHMANDU, March 28: The second phase of the 'Sambad Yatra' led by Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa commenced today from Gopiganj in Nawalparasi.
Thapa inaugurated the journey by laying garlands on the statue of BP Koirala at the local square.
Previously, the 'Sambad Yatra' had initiated from Mechi Bridge in Jhapa and paused upon reaching Gopiganj in Nawalparasi.

According to NC Central Member Ajay Babu Siwakoti, the second leg of the 'Sambad Yatra' is scheduled to unfold over the course of three days, covering various locales spanning Nawalparasi, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Dang, and Banke districts.
During this journey, Thapa will engage in dialogue with locals, attentively listening to their concerns.
Thapa is scheduled to depart from Nawalparasi to Rupandehi following the route via Patkhauli to the district party office, continuing the ‘Sambad Yatra’s’ trajectory along the postal highway.
En route, he is scheduled to engage with industrialists in Bhairahawa and delve into local issues upon reaching Bethari.
