Four Yarsa pickers go missing in Seti

DHANGADHI, June 29: Four people went missing while crossing Seti river at Kada-7, Banjh in Bajhang district.




Deputy Inspector General of Police Ram Kumar Khanal at the Far-Western Regional Police Office, Dipayal said the travelers went missing while crossing the river using a wooden plank.

Those missing are Mahesh Singh, 21, Kunte Sahi, 40, Shubhan Singh, 28, and Dambar Bahadur Singh, 40, of Banjh.



“The incident happened at around 4 pm on Sunday,” DIGP Khanal said, “We received information only today due to remoteness of the place.”



The incident site is located at four-day walk from Chainpur, the district headquarters. A police team from Dhuli Police Office has left for the search operation.



A group of 21 people were heading to pick yarsagumba (Cordyceps Sinensis).  It is a caterpillar fungus prized for its purported aphrodisiacal properties and it fetches good money.
