Former NASA astronaut visits Kanjirowa

KATHMANDU, May 27: NASA’s former scientist and astronaut Dr Sandra Hall Magnus visited Kanjirowa National Secondary School on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, May 27: NASA’s former scientist and astronaut Dr Sandra Hall Magnus visited Kanjirowa National Secondary School on Thursday. The press statement released by Kanjirowa National Secondary School quoted Executive Director, Mahendra Khanal as saying “Dr Magnus’s visit has created lots of excitement among students and has encouraged students to pursue their dream in Astronomy”. 


Executive Chairman of Kanjirowa, Kapil Dev Regmi, claimed that the school has been collaborating with various American institutions in education, technology and culture and Dr Magnus’s visit is a milestone in their collaborations, read the press statement.

Addressing the function, Dr Magnus shed lights on her childhood goal to become an astronaut that she accomplished due to her rigorous studies and research. She said that becoming a scientist at NASA was a dream come true moment for her and that she achieved that with concentrated efforts, dedication and honesty. “She gave highly informative presentation incorporating her special mission to the Moon to the students of STEM Club members,” read the statement. “She interacted with students answering their questions.”
