KATHMANDU, May 25: Former Lieutenant General of Nepal Army, Bala Nanda Sharma, has been appointed as the head of COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC).
The cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to appoint Sharma to the position. He will also serve as secretary of the board of directors led by the prime minister. Sharma played a key role in the rehabilitation and integration of Maoist army combatants.

PM KP Sharma Oli had been leading CCMC after releasing deputy prime minister Ishwar Pokharel from the responsibility.
