Former King Shah’s security team replaced

The government has replaced the security team assigned to former King Gyanendra Shah. A source confirmed that the Armed Police Force team, led by DSP Jagdish Hamal, has been removed.

KATHMANDU, March 30: The government has replaced the security team assigned to former King Gyanendra Shah. A source confirmed that the Armed Police Force team, led by DSP Jagdish Hamal, has been removed.


The Armed Police sources revealed that a new team, led by DSP Pramod Prakash Pathak, has been deployed for the former king's security.

This time, a team of 16, in accordance with the standard protocol for former dignitaries, has been assigned. The previous security team for the former king consisted of more than 16 members.


After a pro-monarchy protest in Tinkune, Kathmandu, turned violent on Friday (March 28), some individuals demanded action against Shah.
