The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and Nepal Football Association (NFA) jointly organized a press conference to announce the decision.
The rival footballing bodies have agreed to form a united ANFA by September 2009 and a statute drafting committee including members of both the bodies, and organize the stalled ‘A’ Division League this year. The term of the current ANFA leadership headed by Ganesh Thapa ends in the first week of September 2009.
The meeting that started from 11 a.m. was participated by National Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Treasurer Azhar Manandhar, and members Purendra Bikram Lakhe and Laxman Shrestha.
Similarly ANFA president Ganesh Thapa, vice-president and spokesperson Lalit Krishna Shrestha and another vice-president Kumar Thapa represented ANFA while NFA had president Bijaya Narayan Manandhar, vice-president Krishna Bhakta Manandhar and general secretary Indra Man Tuladhar taking part in the meeting.
